Esperance is her original name ; Purpose Build in 1967 for the Canal du Midi as a cargo vessel carring wine between Bordeaux and the Mediterranean ,she is one the youngest authentic barge operating on the Canal.
Her career was to last only for 15 years as commercial traffic started to decline rapidly in the late 70s when rail and road transport became the most popular way between the Med and the Atlantic.
Because of the quality of her construction, she became one of the first private yacht
cruising the Canals of France .
This beautiful boat was converted into a luxury boutique hotel barge in 2002 to cruise in Provence and the Camargue area.
In 2010 Esperance was totally renovated with loving care and no expense spared , making her one of the most luxurious and spacious barge cruising the Canal du Midi with 4 / 6 Guests .
